Cynthia A. Doerr, M.D., brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to the Partnership. From 1996 to 2000, she worked as a solo, private practice pediatric infectious disease specialist and hospital epidemiologist in San Antonio, Texas. During that time, she was instrumental in independently developing an Infection Control Department and served as Chief of Epidemiology at Methodist Children’s Hospital, the majority market share pediatric hospital in Central Texas.
From 1995 to 1996, Dr. Doerr practiced medicine in a number of private settings in Texas and Nevada. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, with a subsequent fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Doerr joined Essex Woodlands as Venture Partner in the Houston office in August 2000 and has been involved in numerous Essex Woodlands investments.
